All subdomain creation is done through your control panel. Subdomains allow you to expand your site to include friendly prefixes to your primary site address, such as support.yourcompany.com.
To create a subdomain:
If your domain is www.yourdomain.com, then you can create a subdomain called support.yourdomain.com by following the below steps:
1) Sign into the control panel
2) Navigate to the domain fow which you wish to create a subdomain, in this case it is yourdomain.com
3) Then choose "add subdomain" from the control panel
Once created, there will be a directory auto-created in your domain's wwwroot directory. Everything you upload into this directory will be accessible by the sub-domain from the browser. For example, if you chose support.sampledomain.com as your subdomain, then you will see a new directory under your wwwroot called "support" which support.sampledomain.com will automatically point to. You can then deploy a site or files to the subdomain by using FTP to upload straight to the subdomain directory.
Please note that in some cases you might wish to create your subdomain as an entirely separate domain inside your helm control panel. This would make the subdomain function more like an entirely separate site. There are both advantages and disadvantages to this method. The main disadvantage is it will use up one of the total number of domains you are allowed to host on your account. The advatange is it gives you a few more options and tuning ability for the subdomain. If you are on the Xpress plan then you can only host 1 domain so you will have to make your subdomain as a normal subdomain, as described in the first paragraph.
