1) Go to the Helm Control Panel (http://control.datahostingcenter.com), and view your FTP accounts to ensure the account is setup with the correct username and password.
2) There are two primary FTP modes - Active and Passive. Try switching the FTP mode to either of these to see if it allows you to connect. Certain firewall configurations may not work properly with Active mode, while others may not work properly in Passive mode.
3) Ensure that your firewall settings are not turned up too high as to completely block FTP from functioning. Many times firewalls such as Zone Alarm will cause problems with FTP and other services depending on how the firewall has been configured.
4) If this is your first time using FTP on your site since joining DHC, then please make sure that you are trying to login to your primary FTP account with the correct password. The primary FTP account password will be the same as your control panel password, and the username will be the same as the domain name (unless your domain is very long - see below paragraph).
You can locate all your login information, including FTP, with the intial emails you received from us after you signed up. If you continue to experience issues, then please contact support.
Note: Make sure you enter the correct FTP user name. If your domain is long, then your user name might not be exactly identical to your domain name. Double check your signup emails for your user name for the primary FTP Account.
